Canada's New Caregiver Immigration Programs

472

With the closure of the Interim Pathway for Caregivers, Canada has introduced two dynamic programs, the Home Child Care Provider and Home Support Worker pilot, aimed at simplifying the immigration process for caregivers.

????Key Features:

➡Streamlined Process: These pilots offer caregivers a direct path from temporary to permanent residence, easing the transition as they accrue the required two years of Canadian work experience.
➡Family Inclusion: Immediate family members benefit from open work permits and study permits, promoting family reunification in Canada.

????Requirements for Caregivers:

????Home Child Care Provider Pilot: Accepting up to 2,750 candidates annually with experience in Home Child Care (NOC 4411).
????Home Support Worker Pilot: Geared towards Home Support Workers (NOC 4412), also accepting a maximum of 2,750 candidates yearly.

➡Steps to Obtain a Caregiver Visa:

Essential steps include selecting the right program, securing a genuine job offer, demonstrating capability, and meeting language proficiency and education requirements.

➡Sponsoring Caregivers through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program:

Designed to address short-term labor shortages, this program allows families to hire foreign caregivers based on specific criteria set by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC)/Service Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

????The Path to Permanent Residence:

Canada's commitment to caregivers is evident in these programs, offering a direct route to permanent residence based on experience levels, emphasizing a job offer, language proficiency, and education credentials.
