Travelers are still required to demonstrate that they have sufficient funds for their stay, but given the pre-approval provided by the eTA, these checks may be less stringent than before. The emphasis continues to be on ensuring tourists, business travelers, and visitors contribute positively to Canada while respecting the laws and regulations during their stay.

Health checks remain in place, particularly important in the context of the ongoing global health scenarios. Visitors might be asked about their vaccination status or any contact with contagious diseases, depending on current public health advisories. Criminal background checks are also conducted as part of the eTA application process, meaning individuals who may pose a security risk can be identified and dealt with before they travel.
