Tens of thousands of applicants have been assigned by Canada's immigration department, IRCC, to inactive immigration officers. New data reveals that some of these officer's codes didn't log in since 2007.

As of this February 2022, IRCC data shows that 59,456 open, pending, or reopened applications were assigned to 779 former employees or dormant computer placeholder codes which have been under processing for quite a long time.
